What is PowerNet?

An advanced wireless solution that combines the power of our design management system called Librarian with the convenience of network-enabled, handheld portable devices (PDAs), PowerNet creates an efficient network to manage embroidery production, even over remote locations, with real time information.

Using portable handheld devices, machine operators can "pull" embroidery designs from a design database or from a design folder and send them to machines. Operators can see the status of any machine on the handheld device (PDA), and are alerted to thread breaks or machine stoppages.

Gain Mobility

Using the hand-held PDA an operator can request designs (pull designs) from the Librarian server or a design folder and send them to one or multiple machines on the network while being anywhere on the production floor. This is a big time saver because operators can now manage many machines without being confined to a physical location.

Reduce Errors

The operator can see a preview of the design on the PDA before sending it to the machine, so there is a visual confirmation and little chance for costly errors. After the design preview, the operator can select which machine to send the design to and see the progress of the download.

Get Real Time Status of Machines

Once the design is sewing on the machine, the operator can see the progress of the design as it sews, as well as retrieve information on the speed of the machine. In addition, while being anywhere on the shop floor, the operator can see the status of any machine on the PDA.
Machine status displays information like whether the machine is on or has stopped, the progress of the design in real time, stops due to thread breaks, and so on.

Manage Production without being on the Production Floor!

Production managers can see the status of multiple machines on their computer monitors, thus keeping track of the entire production floor from the convenience of their office.

Improve Productivity with Data Collection and Reporting

The Data Collection feature allows managers to see summary reports of machine efficiency (which can be imported into programs like MS® Excel®) and production efficiency (number of pieces sewn/number of designs completed) for Tajima Serial machines, providing tools to improve the overall efficiency and productivity of the shop floor.

Connect even from Remote Locations

Using the Internet communication protocol, Librarian enables multiple users to connect to the Librarian server over a local area network, company Intranet, or the Internet, so it is easy to access designs even from remote locations, using nothing more specialized than an Internet browser.

Managers can also see status of production from a remote location, so they can be in touch even when they are away!
